It's Men's Health Week! As promised, here are our recommended vitamins/supplements to support men's health. We have also added their source so you can add them into your diet!

🏋️ Vitamin E (400IU) and Zinc (10-30mg)
These two vitamins we have listed together as they need each other in order to function in your body. Vitamin E has more functions than we will list but the most important being protecting your red blood cells in order for them to live longer. By doing so this will improve athletic performance, promote healthy skin and hair and reduce blood pressure. Zinc has male specific functions as it promotes a healthy prostate function. Good whole food sources of this are nuts such as cashews and almonds (try to avoid peanuts).

💪Vitamin B
There are several B vitamins that are important and it is beneficial to have a supplement with all of them present. Check specifically for B1 (20mg), B2 (20mg), B3 (10mg), B5, B6 (10mg), B9 (300ug) and B12.

B 1,2,3 will give you increased energy throughout the day, B6 is the "master vitamin" and is used in more body functions than any other nutrient (therefore is easily depleted), B9 & 12 are used by your DNA and brain. Foods to add to your body: fresh fruit, potatoes, wheat germ and vegetables (green leafy are best).

🧠 Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
This is anti-aging and an antioxidant that is directly used by every cell in your body to produce energy. Vitamin E is also needed to be taken in order to absorb CoQ10! Food to add to your diet: Spinach, nuts and kelp

💊If you are on any Statin drug for high cholesterol this vitamin is highly used by your liver to process the drug and can leave you deficient. The best dose is 30-100mg depending on Statin drug strength.

As always it is important to talk to your chiropractor, nutritionist or medical doctor before beginning a new supplement routine to make sure it does not interact with any medications you are currently taking.
